“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”
Earl Nightingale
The truth is, in life, we have the ability to determine our own success or failure. Does this mean that if we really want to do something, we will not fail? Unfortunately, no.
Here are three simple steps to get started today on the life of your dreams.
1. Write down your goals.
This sounds simple but the reality is that most people do not do it. But writing down your goals is a powerful thing.
For 2013 I wrote down 10 goals. I got the idea of writing out specifically ten goals from Brian Tracy and his book, Eat That Frog.
2. Take action.
Just writing down your goals is a great start but if you are really serious, take the next step and do something about them.
One of my goals for 2013 was to start a small peer mentoring group online. I have now started two and am in the process of helping other bloggers start groups of their own.
3. Don’t give up.
Just because you write down your goals and take action does not mean it will be easy or that they will happen overnight, especially if you have big goals.

Love the goals, Drew, and that you are taking action to achieve them. You are an inspiration! The third one is important–don’t give up. I am finding as I travel the path to what I thought I wanted, I am finding it may not be where I truly wanted to go. Thanks for the post!

Excellent post Drew. I’m strongly believer in writing down your goals in order to conceptualize them and implemented better (and to know when you have reach them of course!!). I’m strongly believe that if you cannot measure them you cannot control them (the goals that means, something that implies that you should set SMART goals, and you have to measure them for tracking your progress).
Excellent post, Drew, thank you for sharing.
