We learn so much from others.
Seriously. Whether it was our parents or our teachers, growing up we were taught so much. The foundations of all that we know and for some of us, believe, was etched into our minds from year zero to where we are today. The only thing that really changed was our thought process. As we grew older we realized we have the power to make decisions. We have the power to choose what we want to do, what we want to learn and what we think is valuable information. We have the ability to now react to what happens to us in the future.
How do we react to anticipation?
When we see things coming, we can’t really do to much more from there. We feel it is inevitable. It is bound to happen or at least we think we know it will. We scramble and try to prepare ourselves for it. Whether it’s the worst situation or the best, we tend to give ourselves a ton anxiety through our reactions to anticipation. Does all of this adrenaline and stress really do us any good?
Honestly, the solution is a bit dynamic.
Adrenaline can make us do some pretty amazing things. It gets our mind focused and determined. We do things we normally wouldn’t do with out it. Our mind and body are overly excited and we surpass our own capabilities. That is pretty awesome and a superhuman type trait that we all contain for these situations.
Stress can break us down. It can give us a ton of fear and make us nervous, but it also strengthens us. I like to think of negative ideas this way – All bad things are the stones in our life that sharpen our blade to slay the beasts that will approach us in the future.
So the next time you see the storm approaching, don’t worry, you will be just fine. You will react, learn from the experience and be even more prepared for the next one.
