There are times in our life, such as this month, when we need to make a choice to do a lot of things. This tuesday we have the opportunity to vote for the next U.S. President which can change the course of our lives for the next four years. We might have the choice to finish out a semester of school strong and prepare for essays, exams, and projects or maybe have to make the choice of where we want our life to go in the new year.
2012 truly went by faster than most of us wanted it to. Maybe for others it didn’t go by fast enough, but either way we all have choices to make along the way.
Sometimes when things get rough, we feel a sense of guilt or our current ideas are not going the way we had hoped and we need to choose another way. We need to stop, slow down and evaluate what is going on. Why are we failing? What is missing? Why is this not turning out the way that was tested to be true?
There is nothing wrong with failure. It is something we have to value and learn from. If we are never failing, we are really never trying and taking risks. Some of us are more fortunate than others or take calculated risks that give us the upper hand, but it is through our trials and our failures that we learn so much.
Sure it is great to succeed. Actually, it is wonderful to succeed, but it is the failures along the way that help us get there! We need trials to lead us where we need to be and who we need to be. We can learn a lot from others that have experience and wisdom, but there is no better way to learn than a true personal experience.
I am not saying that we should all just go out to try things to fail, but we should not fear failure and if we do fail, do not fret because it helps us learn humility, strength, and courage to move on and reach for success.
I encourage you to to be wise, to be fearless, and to let failure be your guide to success.
