I took this photograph last summer. Not sure where that guy was going, but he was on his way down this Alley. Sometimes when I see people I wonder what their life is like. Who they are. Where they are from. How they grew up. What they do and where they are going. In this vast world that is so complex sometimes we want simple answers, but that is never the case. As human beings, each of us are a deep and vast story within a book of infinite pages.
One thing that I have realized lately, especially after seeing so many old friends over the holidays, is that I love hearing stories of how people have become who they are. We are presented with so many opportunities in our lives both big and small and sometimes the smallest ones are the most profound and change our lives forever. In 2013 i will be starting a series of videos to capture people I respect and believe in to help share their story and show the world that there is much to be seen and much to do. There are so many stories to tell.
Do you know anyone in your life that you have always wanted to share their story with the world?

Funny thing is, I was thinking about this very thing only a few weeks ago (wouldn’t it be weird if we were thinking of it at the same time?), sort of like “average person” stories. There’s a Paul McCartney song of the same title, and it basically says that we don’t know what the hopes and dreams are of anyone, unless they tell us. And quite often it’s surprising. Of course there are always people like the “crazies” on American idol who think they sound like this or that diva or this or that rock singer, but then there are people who are truly talented, but for one reason or another are not famous for doing something or other. Quite often it’s for lack of a reasonable self esteem, negative peer pressure, financial difficulties, the list goes on and on. The internet certainly changes a lot of that, for many people, even those who might get access only in a library or in a computer department of an electronics store. Anyway, I hope you had a pleasant holiday, and I wish you a happy new year. Thanks for posting your thoughts, images, and found items.

Thanks for the in depth response. It’s very true, there are many artists that have truly great talent, but don’t make it their career. In some ways it is almost a blessing especially if they realize they don’t want to lose the reason they love to do it in exchange for monetary gain.
