For the most part, people will know me as the successful and happy guy that is usual nice and helpful to others.
Truth is, I deal with problems and struggle with happiness just like everyone else does. Despite what I have, I wrestle with my conscience all the time. I struggle with letting my personal feelings get the best of me. I fear how others think of me quite often and that is something that can be quite dangerous for us. Confidence in who we are is very important in our happiness and how we succeed in life. It helps a ton to know how to deal with the daily hardships of life or you can learn more from Ohio Green Team – Columbus which products can be of great help.
How others perceive us is something we can easily get caught up in. We speak, we act, others speak back and react, our anxiety rises, then we react to those reactions and then sometimes we overwhelm ourselves with emotion. When that happens, it might be to try stress-relieving products from companies such as the Denver Post.
I think one of the strangest things about perception is that with the internet we can portray only the best side of ourselves. We show only our best work. We show our “good side”, the photos of us that look the best and we voice ourselves in a way we want others to know us in. We fear judgement and opinions.
That right there is very common and modern struggle.
With immediate feedback from things we say and content we create, we face constant judgement. We have always had to face judgement. Since the beginning of time. The only difference between now and then is the speed and intensity. Not only is the judgement faster, it is stronger. People hide behind their keyboards and voice their opinions about you. If you were to talk to those people face to face, I can almost guarantee that most of those people wouldn’t say the same thing to your face.
For me, I have chosen to not to contribute that social lifestyle. I try to not be one who judges another online. I will critique work if it is asked, but for the most part I am optimistic and supportive to those I feel deserve it. If I have nothing considerate or constructive to say, I don’t say anything at all. There isn’t enough of that going around. We need more of it.
But then…..you have another problem……
Because people are only posting their best work, their best portraits of themselves and only the good news in their life, jealousy and depression sets in. It’s a common problem we all come across. On the days we are bored and unmotivated we see the amazing things that others are doing and we wish we could be them. We wish our life wasn’t boring in that moment or was just “better”.
We forget to shut off the computer. We forget to turn away from our smartphones.
Sometimes, we forget to live our own life.
Instead of living our own life, we just keep wishing we had another.
Being optimistic isn’t perfect, but it leads us to a better day in our life. Bad things happen. Life is going to suck. Someone is going to do something better than you can. What we can learn from living with imperfect optimism is this fact….. There is going to be bad things in our life, there are going to be great things in our life and it can be near impossible to always be happy with the situations we are in. We won’t always have the best attitude, but proper actions can help keep us focused on the important things.
Our family, our friends and those we love.
So rather than focusing on everyone else, their successes and being filled with jealousy, let’s start unplugging and focusing on our own life and the ones we love. Let’s remember to seize our days. Both the good and the bad ones.
