Choices are never easy.
We all face decisions every single day. What we want to eat. What time we will go to bed. Whether or not we will exercise. Sometimes we face decisions that carry a little more weight in our lives. Will I stay up all night stay up all night and finish this project? Will I take the time to work on my studies? Some choices are easier to decide than others, but what drives our decisions to say yes or no to them?
Motivation develops healthy decisions.
When it comes to making the “right choice” or the “better decision”, if we are truly motivated to reach our goals, we can make the right choices. Laziness can be a powerful force that provokes bad choices. We procrastinate. We tell ourselves we are just too tired to get anything done. Why are we tired? Is it because we physically and emotionally are tired or is it because our true desires are misguided by immediate satisfactions? Do we lay on the couch all night instead of doing what really needs to get done? Do we do something nice for ourselves instead of something nice for others?
Investments in others have true reward.
One of the greatest motivations for me has been giving to others. When you give to others, you invest in others. People realize that you care. People see the good within you. Relationships are an important element of motivation. Friends and family are the ones that inspire you. They know and see what you love to do. They want to help you succeed. When you give to them, they give to you as well. Motivating yourself is not an easy task and journeys should never be traveled alone. Never be afraid to talk about your goals with others. When others know your dreams you will be surprised how much they are willing to support you when you need it most.
Motivation to succeed not only comes from within, but can be empowered by those that know you well.
About the image.
When I was editing the image for this post I decided to just experiment and let creativity go wild. I am not sure why, but I kept moving forward with a method of erasing the image. Each piece done one at a time over the span of a few hours. Cuts made, then taken back. I decided to settle on this composition and call it “Decisions” because it is when we decide to go beyond our typical choices that we tend to create something new for ourselves.
What choices in our life can we make better?
How can we remove those bad choices from our lives to benefit not only ourselves, but others as well?
