Fear is a Wall We Must Destroy.
There tends to be point of immersion with things we face. You get to a point where you just have to jump. You have to run full sprint to know that you can make the leap across the gap. You just have to let go of fear and dive in.
There is that split second before impact that we go into paralysis. We have no idea what will happen next. Then, as soon as we enter the atmosphere courage takes over. We move forward past the idea of being scared. The idea that we will regret it. The idea that we can’t do something. The idea that others will judge us. The idea that we might not like it or we might not love it as much as we think.
Beyond all of those things there is a bigger picture. Those things are just the details that fill the void we call immersion. It all happens so fast that we tend to forget about or not even see them. The details soon become irrelevant. While all this happens we grow though experience. The experience of immersion gives us courage to pursue and invest more in the future.
That’s why you should immerse yourself in what you love to do. All of the burdens. All of the fears. All of the uncertainties soon pass by and don’t matter anymore.
So go ahead. Immerse yourself.
What have you immersed yourself in?
How have you grown through it?
