It is when we are worn down that we can discover amazing things about ourselves.
Despite the unpleasant feeling of being tired, stressed and pretty much bored and annoyed by the things that wear us out, we can learn a lot from it. If you take a step back and think about a few things it might just make that moment and hopefully the entire day so much better.
Here are a few things I like to think about or do.
Remember it could probably be way worse. I know that’s an easy one, but it’s important to remember that we are lucky things haven’t gone down a worse road. Try to read success stories about people that have been in extreme situations and how they came out strong and benefitted so much from the dark place they were in. With an optimistic light we are forged to reveal ourselves through the darkness and become victorious.
Remember that there are people that love and care about you.
No matter how much you may feel alone, there has to be someone that is willing to listen. Don’t be upset with them if they don’t know what to say, but appreciate the fact that they listen. Listening doesn’t mean having a solution. That is a very important thing to remember. We cannot expect others to have answers for us all the time. Be grateful that they have an open ear and open arms.
Remember that being jaded is temporary. Nothing is permanent.
The situation you are in will eventually fade or at least become more controllable in the future. You must be hopeful of the future and that better days are on their way to you. In this moment you are vulnerable. It doesn’t just mean that you are weak, but that you are able to change a lot of things about yourself. Your decisions in this time will mold you into what you really want to be. If you give up you are more likely to give up in the future. If you follow through and tough it out, you will be stronger for the next challenge.
