As of May 12th 2014 I have 188 blog posts in 2014. May 12th is the 132nd Day of the year. That means I have 233 days left to write and publish 312 more blog posts to reach my goal. I think I am on a pretty good run. I feel pretty confident in my pace. It is the consistent writing ritual that I have every day that has been keeping me on track.
Writing is a part of me now.
On top of blogging all of these posts, I have even been writing my first book, which will be released next month! I started writing it in the end of February and it’s around 23,000 words in length as of right now. I am pretty darn proud of it and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.
When it comes to keeping track of goals, having a steady pace can make things a lot easier towards the end. Rather than procrastinating and hustling last minute, you can ease across the finish line with less stress and more energy to celebrate. I am the kind of person that works well under pressure, but I want to focus on being the kind of person that can consistently work at something that only has more personal reward than anything else. I want to better myself as a human being. To be able to take on what the future brings.
Keeping pace doesn’t mean you always have your “A game.” Believe me, I have some pretty bad writing days. Totally uninspired, completely emotionally disconnected and utterly bored with any idea I come up with. I hardly have the motivation to complete anything, but I do it anyways.
Because that’s what it takes. You do it despite how you feel that day. You don’t cross the finish line or do your best work, but you are doing something.
That little something is always better than nothing. Always.
// Update // I reached 365 posts in September of 2014. You can read about why I stopped my goal to 500 posts here.
