Deadlines are deadlines.
Some people don’t completely understand that concept though. They think they can just willy nilly change things the last minute and expect high quality work to retain itself. They think that since you are to a certain point that you can just change something quickly. That you can alter a part of something and that it will make everything so much better than it already was.
It gets worse…
Once you do that “simple” task for them once that they can do that to you again. They can request changes with near impossible capacity. Since you did it “once” you can do it “again”….over and over again.
Apparently miracles can be replicated in their world.
As a content creator or a person that is told what to create, there has to a balance in communication and there has to be respect on both ends. Clients and teams have to respect you, your time and deadlines. You shouldn’t be expected to work like a slave. You should be treated equally.
You want work and they want a product created. You want to make something awesome and they want distribute something awesome.
If you are known for fixing last minute changes, you will be expected to do that all the time.
Don’t do that to yourself. You deserve better than that. Tell it like it is. Communicate.
