Life is a series of collisions, cascades, and elevations.
If you remember anything from geography class or Google “tectonic plates,” you’ll learn about how and why our planet looks the way it does. Tension and relief between them create all the mountains, valleys, plateaus, and plains you see around you as you make your way across this planet. Your life is just as dynamic and impacted in the same manner.
Events and relationships push and pull on you. You fall into deep valleys of shame or regret. You find yourself high upon mountain tops, yet feel like you’ve plateaued over and over again. All of us want to see the future, the other side of the mountain, through the fog.
But all of these barriers are just blessings to remind us to be grateful for right now.
All because every single damn day serves a purpose for us. To carve us from the stone. To smooth the edges. To let it be. To focus on today.
In an age of instant gratification.
Please be patient.
Please be humble.
Please be excellent to each other.
Please be excellent to yourself.
I originally wrote this on my Instagram account, but I wanted to share it here. It resonated with so many people on there and I hope it resonates with you.
