In a world that is saturated with things being constantly created, how do we find originality? How do we do something that has never been done before? It can feel pretty much impossible. We begin to realize that everything we say and do is influenced by something we have seen, heard or felt. This is true for all people. We are influenced by our environments whether we like it or not.
Even famous people have been influenced by others. Their work only seems original because we perceive it as “never been done before.” Technically, this is true despite all of the influence they have come in contact with. The root of what they have made can be connected to other works by other people, but there is a simple explanation that separates all of us from each other.
The only thing that’s never been done before is your own voice and actions. You are the only you in existence. If you don’t speak up, if you don’t act, it will never happen. Everything you do is unique because of the simple fact that there is no other you. It’s so simple to forget such a beautiful fact.
It’s all up to you.
Just make sure you don’t forget to listen, understand and care. Make sure what you do has purpose. A great one. More importantly, purpose does not mean bigger numbers, but great change.
