We must find obedience in ourselves.
Time and time again we bend and we break to try to impress or fit into a mold that others will seem to like us. We try to stay obedient to what they define as who we are. We really shouldn’t be doing that. Quite honestly, we should be staying obedient to who we really are.
It’s important to be polite and stay true to our promises and the tasks we are given, but when we change who we are (the great parts of us) for the benefit of another person, we sacrifice so much.
The real us. The people we were born to be are aching to be honored.
So how do we make sure we stay true to ourselves and not be defined by false influences?
When it comes to discovering and proclaiming the real you, you have to remember what you love, who you love and why you do what you do. We all have different passions and it is imperative that we share them with people, especially those that we love. It is so important to be excited for others in their ventures as well, but if you have no genuine interest in what they do, there is no reason for you to bend over backwards to try and fit in.
If you aren’t passionate about what everyone else is doing, start your own trend. Become and define your own trend. There are people that want to know the real you. There are people that care and they will follow you. Blog about it. Talk about it. Share it with the world. People will find it and they will love it just as much as you do.
Not everyone will love it, but the people that do will make it all worth your while.
Be obedient to yourself and the happiness you will find is priceless.
