As a photographer, it’s always nice to get updates on gear, learn new things, see what the industry is up to and maybe even get inspired once in a while. So we decided to compile the five websites that we visit the most during the week and why.
1. Fstoppers
Not only is Fstoppers an amazing news source with articles about all kinds of topics, it also has great gear reviews, inspirational interviews with photographers, and great videos. The coolest part is that all of the content is submitted by photo enthusiasts from all across the world. We personally enjoy its ability to update us with very diverse articles. There is an article for just about every type of personality.
Here is one of our favorite articles that has recently been published:

2. Phlearn
Phlearn is where you go to learn some of the coolest techniques in image editing. They deal a lot with surrealism and using compositing, but they also have a ton of useful tips for beginners to help you define your style. The coolest part about photoshop is that you can do the same thing with about two are three different tools and that can really define your overall workflow. Phlearn has great video content for free and if you want to dive deeper into your work, you can purchase lessons to do so.

3. Fro Knows Photo
When you want to learn about photography from a super cool dude, Fro Knows Photo is where it’s at. For Josh, one of our writers here, sometimes believes the teacher is more important than the information taught. Jared Polin A.K.A “The Fro” can take credit for teaching Josh a titanic amount of information on shooting and also keeping it fun.
Check out the Fro’s 4 tips to becoming a better photographer:
4. Digital Photography School
Josh loves Digital Photography School because it has become a reference point for any and everything he does. From when he first started to now and he still uses this site often.

5. Cheesycam
Emm, over at Cheesycam, has created quite an interesting website. It is essentially a blog that I have found to be very informative and a great place to find reviews on third party products. I have literally saved myself thousands of dollars by following this website. Emm has shared great reviews and articles about cheap products that give you the best bang for your buck. Many of the products are just as good as the name brand ones as well. He also tends to cover a lot of video equipment since DSLR video became insanely popular. He has a great gear page that links to videos and articles about each so you can see why he chose them in his arsenal.
