If there is one thing that I’ve noticed since I started using Pressgram, it’s how consistent my traffic has been since August 2013. Not just in general, but more specifically in correlation to how much I used Pressgram to post to my blog.
If you look at the stats above you can see that when I was testing the app in August my stats began to rise. I was publishing right to my blog from Pressgram before it even launched publicly. Then you will notice that September 2013 was my best month. The reason for that is because it was the launch month of Pressgram. All the hustle and bustle and chit chat online brought folks to my site since I was a big supporter of the app, it’s cause, and most of all it’s function.
Let me reiterate that last part. To me the function that Pressgram provides is simple and fantastic. Sure I am retaining ownership of my images, but the idea that I can do no bullshit image publishing to my blog is pretty damn cool.
Sure, there is a WordPress app availabe, but I just hate the interface. It’s just got too much going on. I don’t want to see my stats and other crap, I want to focus on publishing. With Pressgram, once my account is set up in the app, I can shoot, edit, write, and publish. The best part is that I know it’s only going to get better once Version 2.0 is released this year.
If you go back up to the numbers you will notice that my stats did fall in November and December. November fell because the hype of the app had begun to subside. Post launch months can be tough to keep a crowd roaring. In December I did not publish as much as I wanted to for personal reasons. Illness and the holidays really put a damper and shooting and publishing from my iPhone. A poor excuse, but it happens.
What is important to focus on is that the less I published with Pressgram, the less traffic I received to my blog. The more I published with Pressgram the more traffic I got. In relation to the early summer and last spring, my traffic has steadily retained itself thanks to Pressgram. That is something to be thankful for!
It’s only the morning of Day 3 in January and I already have 161 views since I’ve been committing to posting every day this year with Pressgram through the 365 Challenge. It’s going to be a great year thanks to Pressgram and I can’t wait to share my progress again with all of you later this year.
Get out their and blog.

It’s nice to know where my focus is with the app. Knowing that I can do “no bullshit” publishing right from my iphone and help others do the exact same thing. Shoot, edit, share.

Good Luck on that challenge! I have a few goals of my own this year (see today’s blog post), but I’m not up to blogging everyday yet. Maybe in 2015.
