It is easy, when you are young, to believe that what you desire is no less than what you deserve, to assume that if you want something badly enough, it is your God-given right to have it. ― Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild
When it comes to success in life, you and I are probably both guilty of this feeling.
Entitlement.
You feel like we deserve to be someone we are not. Maybe you did put in some time. You “think” you earned the right to get that job above everyone else. You can easily deceive yourself. There is nothing wrong with wanting something greater for yourself, but what if all you do is set yourself up for disaster?
You get out of college and think… “I’ll find a great job and it’s going to be the coolest thing because I’m young, smart and innovative.”
Or maybe you’ve been handed the family business and just expect things to take off and go well since you are in charge now. Is not that easy which is why recommend to ease the burden by outsourcing the payroll or hiring consulting services.
.
What if having the right to be a part of something great meant something beyond feeling entitled?
It does.
Having the right to be a part of something should not be a deserving feeling. Great things in life are not handed to you. When it’s handed to you it falls silent. You lose motivation and stop caring. You never truly earned it.
You have to do your own growing no matter how tall your grandfather was. ― Abraham Lincoln
When you work your ass off just for a chance. An opportunity that maybe something will happen. An opportunity will present itself.
It is through the hard work, smart work, failures, and our own individual success that you become worthy of opportunities that present themselves to us. Once in a while you get lucky too. That doesn’t hurt from time to time. Right?
