I am sure it happens to all of us, but I have worked on projects in the past where I feel I get so deep that I will never be able to get myself out. We get wrapped in fear, lose sight of our goals, and our hope dwindles as due dates approach. One thing that I have learned is that when you feel hopeless or stuck it is always better to seek help rather than try to save yourself on your own. It may seem like you are giving up, but you are just using valuable resources (your friends) to accomplish your goals. Not only that, that person or people that you seek out usually appreciate the thought of you seeking help from them. It shows you respect them for the knowledge or skills that they have. You have to remember that a true leader does not take credit for completion of the goal, but doing what ever it takes to make it possible. It is easy to get an ego about our work. We think we know everything and that our failures don’t have worth. It is when we admit failure and realize that it is of great value. We grow through our failures and mistakes that we make.
Sometimes we need a little help to get lifted up on days we feel down. Even when we aren’t working on projects we have to remember that even then we can still seek out help from others on days we are bummed. Not everyone knows if we are bummed out on the inside or just depressed for no reason. It is up to us to open up and let others know so they can help us when we need it. Have you ever had a project where you felt lost or had no idea where to begin or how to finish? Remember to just take a step back and seek out others to guide you in the right direction.
