Many of us tend to be defeated by the idea that we need some elaborate story or script to make a good film or video. We get stuck in this rut of high expectations that we need characters, plots, locations, scripts and maybe some sort of drama or action to make it appealing to a wide audience.
Today on my lunch, I came across an amazing short video on Vimeo called “Symmetry”. Sure, it was shot very well, done at many different locations with many different people, but it was completely realistic and straight forward. I am sure there was some planning involved in making this short, but when you take a step back to look at it as a whole, it is beautiful and simple. It is a reflection upon either polar opposites or things that relate creating a form of symmetry. There are no lines, no actors, no big productions, just simple shots done with simple intentions.
I encourage you to take a step back and think of something that is fun and simple to create no matter what medium it may be.
What you end up with may be more worth while than that your script you said you would get done last year.
Sometimes all we need a little imagination.
