I was on a good run at the end of spring. I was recording the audio for the chapters of my book, The Elements of Blogging and then I just got distracted with other things. That on top of my own procrastination… I haven’t finished the audio version of my book yet.
So now I’m changing my strategy. It’s the only way I know to get things done. If something isn’t working, make it work in a different way. Figure it out.
Rather than trying to record, edit and prepare my entire book for you in one project, I am going to make each chapter a project. Each week I plan on releasing one or two chapters from my book in text form on my blog to read along with the audio version of that chapter. When it’s all literally “said and done” I will have an awesome little album of all of the chapters for download in one location. All of this will be free and shareable and all sorts of awesome.
The coolest part I loved about recording the chapters was how I could portray emotion in my voice and candidly speak outside of the script that the book is giving me. I say more than the book reads. It’s a great way to connect with you in a more compelling way.
This will also allow readers to focus on chapters and not the entire book in one day. It’s easy to fly through my book in a few days and forget some of the small stuff that you need to exercise and emphasize.
I’m pretty excited because it will give me a chance to provide another channel for readers to hear what I have to say. Literally.

I think this is a great idea. You can only do it one step at a time so break it down into chunks so simple you can’t not take the step. Props on pushing on and pushing on! :)
