I had the pleasure of getting an hour to shoot photos with Tony, the owner of The Libertine in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. Being that both he and I are both originally from Upper Michigan, it was pretty much destiny for us to work together. He has built up quite the establishment that serves the best drinks in town. I love a good beer and he always serves something to satisfy my taste buds. If beer isn’t your thing he and his very knowledgeable staff makes craft cocktails that will blow you away. I am usually not fan of spirits, but he hasn’t made me regret ordering one yet.
We did a basic two light set up with a beauty dish hanging over the top of the bar and back light from behind the bar as well. With the bar having a mirror behind it, it got a little tricky and limited our lighting angles, but we made the best of it. I decided to go dramatic and really bring out a “spotlight” feel to Tony as he crafted his drinks in his domain.
I had my fantastic friends Gary and Andrew help out with this shoot to make the process go much smoother so that we would not break into his regular business hours. Gary even took control once in a while and captured some great shots of his own. They actually turned out pretty fantastic. If you would like to see them, you can check them out here.
You can find The Libertine on Facebook and Twitter.
If you are a little more curious on our set up, check out the awesome behind the scenes photo Gary took here.
